MAKING PREDICTIONS
In Reader's Workshop, we made predictions!
We learned...
Good readers use clues in a story to make predictions.
A prediction is a guess.
When a reader makes predictions, it helps them to
understand what is happening in the story.
To help us understand what it means to make a prediction,
we guessed what could be in our mystery bucket.
We used our 5 senses and schema to help us predict.
Here are some of our predictions...pretty good! |
It was a jingle bell! How does this relate to reading??? Next, we read There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves! We predicted what would happen after the old lady sneezed. ACHOO! If you would like to read this story along with us, check out this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zopbvn7oUvA |
Here are some of our predictions:
Maybe she will sneeze out a scarecrow... |
OR pumpkins... |
We shared our predictions with our share buddies.
