We love to listen to some of our favorite books!

Punctuation Marks!

We are still working on adding our punctuation marks
at the end of our sentences.

Small Moment Writing

We are focusing on "small moments" in our writing.
We used a pumpkin as an analogy for our small moments.

Good writers think of a big topic (like a pumpkin....it's BIG and broad)
Then, we zoom in a little bit more and add
more detail about that moment (like a small pumpkin seed)
So, a small moment is like a small pumpkin seed.
It gives our writing audience the most detail about our topic!

BIG pumpkin topics

The, we pick one and zoom in...these are our seed -aka- small moment stories.

Good writers plan their small moment stories.
We picked a BIG pumpkin topic.
Then, we zoomed in on that topic to make 3 small moments.
Check out some of our stories:
Big topic: Going to the pumpkin patch
Small moments: painted face, picking a pumpkin, and going on the hayride

Text to Text Connections

Good readers make connections to different stories!
We learned how two stories can share and connect.
When we read, we can be reminded of
another stories.
These types of connections are called: Text to Text connections

We read First Day Jitters and Spider's First Day of School.
We compared these two stories to find connections.

We used a Venn diagram to compare two stories too!
We found some connections between the stories Elmer and Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon  too.

Our Seeds FINALLY Sprouted!
