Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.


We celebrated the life of MLK, Jr. this last week.
We read Martin's Big Words and discussed
how Dr. King make contributions to our lives.
He was a leader, lover of all people, and special 
individual who helped everyone. 

We also made portraits of Dr. King and write about his
contributions.

Star of the Week--Saiganesh!

Exploring Soil

We liked exploring and looking at the different
soil my students brought in. 
We found out that soil has many different organisms
in it.



Retelling: The Mitten


We  practiced our retelling skills this last week.
We read The Mitten by Jan Brett.
We "knitted" our own mittens and 
used picture cards to retelling the story.

Captions in Writing


In Writer'S Workshop, we took a look at some books
that had captions. The kids loved seeing real author's using
captions in their writing.
So, we gave it a try! 
My stars did great working with a group 
and making a caption for a photograph.




The petals are growing.

Robertson is our favorite school.

The unicorn is running.

I see the mountains, the trees, flowers, the pond, and the grass.

2D Shapes

We are learning about 2D Shapes in Math! 
So exciting!
