Math Tools

We are learning so much during Math Workshop!
Today, we continued to explore our math tools.

Titus and Camden are using pattern blocks.

Caroline is creating something special with her pattern blocks.

Liam enjoyed using pattern blocks too.

Great smile Camden!

Bailee is exploring our uni-fix cubes.

Ayden and Katie are exploring our snap cubes during Math Workshop.

How many letters are in my name?

Yesterday, we read the wonderful story of Chrysanthemum. It is a fun story about a little mouse named Chrysanthemum. She loved her name! Just like we love our names! So, we counted how many letters we had in our names and created a book page to make our very first class book. Class books are books we write and publish together. Check out some of my friends' wonderful writing:

Our First Week Fun!

We are learning so much!
Today, we worked with different literacy tubs.
Some of our games were:

  • ABC Shadow Letters
  • Making an Alphabet Rainbow
  • Matching magnetic letters to picture cards
  • Putting together ABC puzzles

  Alphabet Rainbow

 Shadow Letters

Alphabet picture cards

ABC puzzles

We also read, The Kissing Hand.
We met a little raccoon named Chester.
Chester was a little nervous about going to school, so his
mom kissed his hand to make him feel safe.
He kept her kiss and enjoyed going to school.

We drew about our favorite part of the story.

Meet the Teacher!

It was so AMAZING to meet all of my new
K friends and their families tonight!
I can not wait to see you all again on Monday!
It's going to be a great year!!!
AMAZING THINGS are going to happen here!

Just a few reminders to help on the first day:

  • Make sure your child gets plenty of rest for the first day.
  • They need to eat a healthy, yummy breakfast. Lots of BRAIN FOODS!
  • Remember to label your child's snack and place it in their backpack.
  • I recommend tennis shoes for the first week. These shoes are the most comfy for kiddos..since we will be walking and up moving around a lot!
  • If they are purchasing a hot lunch from the cafeteria, please make sure they have money on their account. Log on to www.friscoisd.org and set up your child's lunch order.
  • Start the day off with a positive thought and attitude! Let's make it a great year!
When you arrive on the first day:
  • Double check to make sure you have notified me about how your child will be getting home today.
  • Kiss and go! :) We will be fabulous! We will have a blast and see you this afternoon!
