Science: Movement

During Science, we are learning all about movement, force, and motion in our everyday lives.
We had a great time exploring different movement activities this week.

We discussed different ways things move.
For example, things can move in a zigzagstraight, or around and around pattern.
Also, we went outside to experiment with hola hoops and a soccer ball.
Check out our motions!
We did different movement activities with these materials.

Then, we played a movement song and exercised to it. So fun!!!

Junk Faces

To wrap up our study of character traits, we
made ourselves out of JUNK!
We made Junk Faces and listed a character trait
about ourselves.
These are so cute!
Thanks for sending in the all of your JUNK too! :)

I am silly because I run silly with my brother.

I am grumpy because people make me mad.

I am happy because my family makes me happy.

Character Traits

In Reader's Workshop,
We learned that character traits can describe a character in a story
and their actions.

We read Goldilocks and The Three Bears,
Tacky the Penguin, and Grumpy Cat.
We analyzed all of the main characters and listed
their character traits.

Grumpy Cat was a hero because he saved the
little cat from falling.

Goldilocks was sneaky because sneaked into the bears house.

Tacky was kind because he saved his friend.

What a fun activity!
We played round table writing.
Each student had a circle map with their name on it.
We took turns going around the table and writing different
character trait words for each friend at our table.
They did fabulous! :)
Take a look at our circle maps:
