Oh Jingles!!!

Oh Jingles!!!

We earned 10 kindness bells...so...
Jingles brought us snowman stickers from the North Pole.

We caught Mr. Potato Head and Jingles hanging out...
Mr. Potato Head shared his glasses with Jingles.

Here is his note...

The next day, we found Jingles and him playing in our
Legos together.
They must LOVE showing kindness and being friends.

Holidays Around The World

Holidays Around The World
What a FUN time of the year!
We learned all about different holiday celebrations
from around the world.

Here are the countries we studied:
-Mexico
-Africa
-The Netherlands
-Israel
-Germany
-Brazil
-China
-America

Check out some of the facts and see
some of the fun activities we created during our adventure.

We made suitcases to carry around our souvenirs from
our trip.

In studying the The Netherlands, we took a look
at some real Dutch clogs.

We made a scrapbook of facts from our travels.

We made a clog just like the Dutch families.
We placed our clogs outside our classroom.

A special visitor, Sinterklass, left us a treat in our clogs,
just like he would in The Netherlands.

We even had to have a passport to travel
all over the world!
It was so fun! Look at all of our stamps!

Here is a close up of our scrapbooks:

Look at some of our crafts and activities we made
from around the world:

Mexico: poinsettia

Our Chinese laterns

A stocking from Germany

A yummy gingerbread cookie ornament

Jingles is at it AGAIN!

He's at it again....
Our kindness elf, Jingles, is leaving us all kinds of
fun excitement to look forward to each day.

After we earned 10 kindness jingle bells, he brought us
back something special from the North Pole.
Check out his snowflakes and snowballs!

Jingles brought us snowballs (marshmallows) all the way
back from the North Pole.

We had to eat them quick...we didn't want them to melt! HEHE!

On Wednesday, we found him sitting in our share chair reading
some of our holiday books.

Friday, we found him hanging out by the word wall.
He had added his name to our wall.
I think he likes being a part of our class! :)

Comparing Numbers to 10

In Math Workshop, we are working on comparing numbers to 10.
We used marshmallows and pretzels to help us make sets and compare them.
We practiced our "math chat" too using words like:
-more than
-less than
-equal to

We played Break the Train on Tuesday.
With a partner, we broke our trains behind our backs and then
compared our two numbers to see who had more, less, or if they were equal.

Lastly, we used our counters to play Spill.
We grabbed a handful of counters, spilled them, and
then checked to see which color(red or yellow) had more.
Then, we graphed the information to see which colored "won."
