Measurement Fun!
We are learning how to measure!!!
We learned two important words:
-Measure
-Length-How long or short something is?
We talked about why we need to know how to measure.
-It helps us to know how long or short something is.
-Measurement helps us to know if something will find or not.
Since we are in Kindergarten, we don't typically use rulers yet.
However, we can use different non-standard items,
like cubes, links, or paperclips, to help us measure.
Check out our measurement activities.
We had to find things around the room that were longer and shorter than our popsicle sticks. |
We recorded our findings. Next, we ordered different objects by their length. Shortest to Longest |

Magnets
We explored MAGNETS this week!!!
Is it magnetic or non-magnetic???
Each table had a group of items to "test."
We grabbed our magnets and began!
Then, we took our magnets around the classroom
and tested other objects to see if they were magnetic or not.
So fun! Magnets are so cool!

Character Traits
In Reader's Workshop,
We learned that character traits can describe a character in a story
and their actions.
We read Tacky the Penguin and discussed
his character traits too.
We read Goldilocks and The Three Bears.
We discussed Goldilocks' character traits and actions.
What a fun activity!
We played round table writing.
Each student had a circle map with their name on it.
We took turns going around the table and writing different
character trait words for each friend at our table.
They did fabulous! :)
Take a look at our circle maps:
