Reading Fun!

WOW! We LOVE to READ!

It's so cool how my friends enjoy books
and learning new ways to read.

Check out some of our reading fun:

Using picture cards, we are discussing things that we can read.

Camden and Liam are talking about reading game instructions.

We have practiced reading a book in our spots around the room.
In our reader's response journals, we draw a picture of ourselves reading.

I can read a book.

Our reader's response journals help us to
record our thoughts and things we learn while we read.

We are building STAMINA!!!
 In Kindergarten, we are learning how to
read independently. Our goal by the end of the year is to be able
to read for 20 minutes independently.
 So, each week we practice and chart our
progress on our stamina meter.

We are learning ways to read a book.
We can read the pictures, words, and retell the story.

We talked about reasons why we like to read.

We even had a guest reader from 3rd grade--Troi!
She was in Mrs. Shelby's Kinder class a few years ago!
Such a great reader!!!
