In Science, it is all about Animals and their traits!

On Friday, we made fun mixing up different farm animals'

body parts and talking about their traits.

Making Connections

In Reader's Workshop, we are discussing "connections."

 -What does it mean to make a connection? 

-How are connections made in the world around us?

 -How does this relate to me as a reader?
-What does this story remind me of?

We talked about Text-to-Self connections. 

This is a connection between a book that we read 

and our lives, feelings, or experiences.
We practiced making Text to Text and 
Text to World connections too.

Ladybug Addition

My little stars are working so hard at adding numbers!

Check out our Ladybug Addition game. 

They liked added together the ladybug's dots! 

If I Were A Plus Sign...

We enjoyed reading different story problems
from the book If I Were a Plus Sign.

Then, we created our own class book of farm math stories.

Your child may participate in our "theme days" if you would like.

We are learning how to solve

addition story problems.

Meet "Addition Addy"
She is a fancy plus sign that helps us join two numbers.
We learned different words that relate to addition.

We read "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie." Then, we used those characters
and "cookie" counters (cereal) to add numbers.
The kids loved it!

Name Puzzles

We are working on letters and sounds.

We made name puzzles to check out how many letters

our friends had in their names.

We practiced putting our names back together too!

We are working on writing personal narratives stories.

We loved writing about our birthdays, families, and events.

We are learning how to sketch and plan out our stories.

Pumpkin Patch Fun!

We had a BLAST at the Pumpkin Patch!
