Our Winter Party

We had a blast at our Winter Party!
A BIG thank you to our room mom, Mrs. Brown and
all of our volunteers for such a great party!

Also, thank you all for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
I absolutely LOVE all of my gifts and goodies!
I will treasure each and every one of them.
Thank you all! Xoxo!

We are going on a Gingerbread Hunt!

On Friday, our Gingerbread Men went missing!!!
Have you seen them???
We had to go on a hunt all around the school to find them!

Our first clue...

And we are off...looking high and low for our cookies!

We looked everywhere!
We finally found our cookies in our classroom.
Gingerbread men are so tricky!

We ate our cookies fast!
We didn't want them to get away again.

The Polar Express

We had a blast riding and watching The Polar Express!
Check out our fun day!

All Aboard!!!
We acted out the story on our own
Polar Express train!

We colored and punched our tickets!

We sequenced the story and made hats!

We even drank yummy, hot coco!

We tallied and graphed who likes marshmallows in their
hot chocolate.

At the end of the day, we got a call from the front office.
There was a package from the North Pole just for us!

Inside the package, we found bells from Santa.
They were cold!!! Just like the North Pole!

You have to "believe" to hear the bell ring.

Here is the letter that was inside our package from Santa.

The Holidays are Here!

                                          -Kwanzaa
                                          -Hanukkah
                                          -The Chinese New Year
                                          - Christmas

Our Holidays Around the World Tree Map

We read a poem called The Best Present.
Then, we talked about what we thought the best present was.
It was so sweet to hear!!!
Here is our circle map of  "best" presents.

Caroline thinks the best present is a Christmas Tree.

Aydin thinks the best present is our families.

Sophia said her mom is the best present ever.

Tanner said Jesus is the best present ever.

Poetry

We are learning so much about POETRY!
We learned about what poems always have and what poems sometimes have.
We started discussing and reading all kinds of poetry.
Check out our anchor chart and some of the poems we read:

We read multiple poems and poetry books.
Leena is picking out one to read.

This is one of the poems we read.
We practiced visualizing what we thought the "dog" looked like.

As we read, we drew our thoughts.
Then, we read the last stanza  of the poem and decided what we thought this creature was,
based on the clues we read in the poem.

To our surprise...the neighbor's dog was a CROCODILE!!!
AHHH!!!
