Measurement: Lenght and Capacity

This week, we continued to explore measurement.
We had a blast measuring our feet and different items around our room.
We used non-standard measuring tools to help us measure.
Some of these tools were our links and unifix cubes.

We applied it to our shoes...
How do we find out if they will fit our feet?
We have to measure!

So, we practiced measuring our shoes and comparing
our shoe measurements to a friend's.

We used cubes as our measuring tool.

We made these for Open House.....you will have to wait and see!

Capacity
How much will this container hold???

We learned about capacity.
Capacity is "how much" something can hold.
We looked at different containers and made
predictions about how much we thought they could hold.
Then, we filled our containers with different
objects (cubes, counters, beans, rice, etc.)
and counted how many scoops or the number of cubes it would hold.
We LOVED filling these containers to their max capacity!!!
Lastly, we ordered our containers from the least to greatest amount of capacity.
Check out our hard work!!!
