“Camp Kindergarten”
Hi Campers,
In honor of a wonderful year, we will celebrate by having “Camp Kindergarten”
the last few weeks of school. The
children will experience a camping themed activity each day and we hope
everyone can participate! Parents, we
need your help! Please write a letter
to your child as if he/she were really away at camp. You may place the letter in an envelope
addressed to your child or in a Ziploc baggie.
We are asking that the letter be sent in your child’s blue folder by the
first day of camp, which is Monday, May 23rd.
It will truly make your child’s day to receive a letter during “mail
call” at camp. Thanks for your help and
support.
Day 1/ Monday,
May 23rd - Camp Read-a-Lot
We will be reading with friends!
Wear your pajamas and bring several favorite books from home. You can also bring a flashlight, pillow, and
a blanket. Label everything!! There may be some “special” readers coming to
visit our class this day!! Don’t forget to send in your letter for your child.
Day 2/ Tuesday,
May 24th - Camp Think-a-Lot
Wear silly clothes. Bring
puzzles from home. This can include word
puzzles, word search, or jigsaw type puzzles.
Day 3/
Wednesday, May 25th - Camp
Write-a-Lot
Students may wear clothing that has “words” on it. Bring your favorite writing materials (gel
pens, funny pens, markers, stationery, note pads, envelopes).
Day 4/ Thursday,
May 26th - Camp Cheer-a-Lot
FIELD DAY- wear your class shirt!
Students may bring one favorite board game from home! Label all items!
Day 5/
Tuesday, May 31st - Camp Explore-a-Lot
We will participate in lots of experiments!! You can dress as a Mad Scientist (use your
imagination)!!
Day 6/ Wednesday,
June 1st - Camp Grow-a-Lot
We will eat our snack outside.
Students may dress as what they want to be when they grow up.
Day 7/ Thursday,
June 2nd - Camp Find-a-Lot
We will go on a school scavenger hunt and work on problem solving
with hidden picture activities. From
2:00-2:45 your child will be able to use his/her hand held electronic games if he/she chooses to bring one from home. Please be aware that we are not responsible for any lost or
damaged items. We ask
that you are mindful of the content you are sending and that you provide a game
that is appropriate for school. If
students are not using electronics appropriately we will ask for the devices to
be put away in their backpacks. Label all items! We will also have our end of the year party
this day.
Last Day of
School-June 3rd - WE WILL CELEBRATE THE BEGINNING OF SUMMER!
We hope that everyone chooses to participate, however, dressing up
and bringing items from home are completely optional. Thank you for all of your help in making this
an exciting end to a wonderful year!
