Our FUN Reading Projects!

We enjoyed reading some fun stories this week!

We read David Goes to School by David Shannon.
David is a little mischievous at school, but by
the end of the story, he makes his teacher happy!
What did we learn from David?
We learned...
How to be a good student and make
great choices at school!

Check out our little "Davids:"

Brooke's David is going to respect others.

Lynne's will too!

Sydney would like for her David to keep his
hands and feet to himself.

Nate would like for his David to share
and take turns with his friends.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
Welcome to Our Classroom!
We read this delightful story too!
Each letter of the alphabet
is trying to climb the coconut tree
and reach the top.
Who will be at
the top of the coconut tree?
You or me?

We made little coconut trees.

Our letters are climbing high!

Which one will make it to the top???

Math Tool Exploration

We had a blast exploring our math tools this first week.

We learned how to play Domino Parking Lot.

We made trains and towers with our snap cubes.

We used the geoboards to create different shapes.

Welcome to Kindergarten!

Star Parents and my NEW little stars,

Welcome to Kindergarten--where AMAZING things happen! I am super excited to have each of you in my class this year! It is going to be great! :)

Just a few reminders for Monday:
  • Please don't forget to pack a snack-labeled "snack." Place it in your child's backpack--not in the lunchbox please. :)
  • If your child is attending P.E. on Monday, please make sure they wear tennis shoes.
  • Place an extra set of clothes and underwear in your child's backpack too--just in case! :)
  • If you haven't brought your child's school supplies, please bring it on Monday.
Lastly, you may walk your child down to the room at 7:40 when the bell rings. As a reminder, for the first 4 days we ask that you do not come eat lunch with your child. We will be practicing and setting up our procedures for lunch time and we need each students' focus and attention. You may come eat with your little star on Friday. It's pizza day! Yum! :)

I am looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday! Have a wonderful weekend! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns.

See you soon,
Mrs. Shelby

Eric Carle

All About Eric Carle

We have been reading and learning about the beloved children's author: Eric Carle.  We have learned so much about his life, artwork, and stories.

After reading his story, A House for Hermit Crab, we created a watercolor masterpiece. Check it out!
